Community Appreciation Reception
The Community Appreciation Reception is an annual event where the events and accomplishments in
2022 are presented.
It's also a time to showcase our students as well as acknowledge the community support
of UUNIK Academy and its students.
Grooves in the Garden Music Festival
The annual Grooves in the Garden Music Festival will be held on July 19, 2025, at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens
(2743 Wimpole Ave 37914).
Grooves In the Garden is Knoxville’s best outdoor music festival, which includes jazz, R&B, old skool, and soul music.
Knoxville Botanical Garden is an adult-only event featuring live music, a DJ,
food trucks, retail vendors, and a cash bar.
STEAMI Summer Institute
Science, Technology, Education, Arts, And Mathematics
STEAMI Summer Institute is an annual summer program dedicated to educating and empowering African-American youth between the ages of 5 and 12. STEAMI stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math Innovation.
STEAMI Summer Institute
is
a 5-1/2-week program that began in the first week of June and ends in the 2nd week in July. The sessions were 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our program is at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (1601 Dandridge Ave., 37915). This summer marks STEAMI’s seventh year of existence. Registration for the
2025 STEAMI Summer Institute began in February 2025.
STEAMI Learning Institute

STEAMI Learning Institute is a full-time academic institution dedicated to developing children of African descent into exceptional, academically challenged, driven, and disciplined human beings. STEAMI (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math Innovation) exposes youth to STEAM-related learning & careers.
Our vision is to produce leaders and problem solvers who will make a major impact globally; they will become well-developed from a holistic standpoint. The location of our program is Mt Olive Baptist Church (1601 Dandridge Ave 37915). This Fall marks the 3rd year in existence.
ACT Prep Sessions
UUNIK Academy is hosting its in-person ACT Prep Sessions in Spring and Fall 2025. It's also launching an online ACT Prep course designed to empower students between grades 8th through 11th. The course will include video tutorials, ACT Hacks, quizzes, and ACT practice tests.
The online course will launch in April 2025.
